I watched a session called Around the World with Skype. Even though it said it would describe the hardware and software needed, it really focused on what a benefit Skype would be in the classroom. The author gave great suggestions, real situations, and resources online to go to from the session. It was a well spent 20 minutes of viewing! I will definitely use this in my classroom.
I would highly recommend this video to all teachers. My mind was going so quickly as to the ways this could be used in the classroom: speaking to those who live on the various continents we are learning about, a class that is located in Washington and can tell us what it is like to live near the President and talk to a class in Israel when we learn about the various cities there.
I am so excited about using Skype in my classroom!
